Out of Hours Gwent Out of Hours - 111. For emergencies only: to be used when you cannot wait to see your own GP the next working day. The on-call doctor will return your call to assess your need from the service. Should you be visited at home please identify your house by switching on your outside light or keeping an eye out for the medic car.
Prescriptions A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to issue repeat prescriptions and must be received in writing. Tick the items you require on the repeat prescription counter-foil and drop it in the box found on the surgery wall near the main entrance. You may also drop your repeat into your local pharmacy but this may take longer to issue. Please note we do not take requests for repeat medication by telephone.

He has been a GP for more than 30 years and is the lead for our Minor Operations Clinic from our Llanbradach site.
Dr Kaushal is also responsible for tutoring Medical Students from Cardiff University.

Dr Rajan is a GP within the Practice and is available for chronic conditions and all general ailments.
He has been a GP for more than 30 years and heads up the Travel Vaccination Clinic from Bedwas Health Centre. He is also the Lead Practitioner for Diabetes Management and Medical accupuncture.
Dr Rajan is an Honorary Clinical Tutor for Cardiff University Medical School.

Dr Thomas is our female Partner working part time and is available for chronic conditions and all general ailments. She is our lead Pratitioner for Womesn's Health and gynaecological issues in the Practice. Dr Thomas has been a General Practitioner since 2011.
Dr Thomas is a Honorary Clinical Tutor for Cardiff University Medical School.

Dr Haridas is a at the Practice. He is Clinical Governance Lead for the Practice. He is a full time Partner, working as a GP a GP for more than 10 years and is available for chronic medical ailments including minor surgery.
Dr Haridas also tutors medical students from Cardiff University Medical School within the Practice.

Mrs Kaushal is our part time female GP. She has been a GP in South Wales for many years. She specialises in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Dr Kaushal has experience and training in fitting IUS & IUCD.
Claire Davey is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Independant Nurse Prescriber. She specialising in Minor Illness Clinics, Diabetes and Chronic Respiratory Disease.
Claire is available to deal with variety of medical queries in patient over 6 years of age.
Lisa is our Practice Nurse. Her responsibilities include, respiratory clinics, INR clinics, cytology and general nursing duties.
Lisa specialises in wound management.
Helen is our Practice Nurse. She has recently joined the Practice after working as a nurse within the Local Health Board.
Helen is responsible for all nursing duties at the Practice, and specialises in diabetes, cytology and wound care.
Helen has been a registered nurse for almost 30 years bringing many years of experience to her role in Aber Medical Centre.
Denise role within the Practice is to promote health care. She specialises in New Patient Medicals, BP checks, ECGs and assisting the Nurses with chronic disease clinics.
Denise worked for many years at the local outpatients department, and brings a vast amount of expertise with her.
Katrina is our main phlebotomist, bringing with her over 15 years of hospital phlebotomy experience. Katrina is able to provide phlebotomy service to children although it is recommended that children under the age of 2 years old attend the hospital.

Loren is a phlebotomist in our Abertridwr site. She is also trained to take BP readings
Claire is the Practice Manager for all sites. She has been working within the NHS field for 15 years and started as a receptionist. Claire has been in Management for 13 years.
Mandy is the Deputy Practice Manager. She also oversees the Practice IT system and deals with clinical correspondence. Mandy has been working within the NHS field for 16 years working her way up from receptionist.
Finance Manager based at Bedwas and deputises in the absence of the Practice Manager. She has been working in the NHS field for more than 10 years.
The Secretary is the Administrative Support for both GP’s and the Business Manager. She is the first line for contact in respect of referral letters and invoices.
